Jellyfish can be a problem at times (especially when the wind and tide blows them in) so if you get stung, we keep vinegar in the refrigerator. Some people call them cabbage head jelly fish as they are white and look like a cabbage but are not poisonous. Young children may experience nausea. Vinegar takes the sting away immediately. That is the most highly recommended remedy. Very few, 5%, are seriously allergic to stings but if so, please use medical services. Jelly fish come in what is called “blooms” or “swarms” so it is a seasonal problem which occurs two times a year. They were here long before we were!!! A marine biologist says that netting the bay to keep them away harms other marine life. He also said they are not the kind that really can hurt you like they have in Australia. As you can see many many people swim there on the beach so we live with them. The beach patrol uses MEAT TENDERIZER so that is another remedy. Of course there are two pools and hot tubs if you prefer.
